Occupational Therapist Job Details
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland (21239) – Maryland OT jobs
- Setting: Inpatient & Acute Care Rehabilitation
- Job Type: Travel Occupational Therapist Contract
- Duration: 13-26 weeks (flexible)
- Start Date: ASAP (pending active OT license)
- Shift: 5x8-Hour Days (Sunday-Thursday, 07:30 - 16:00)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1700-$1820
- Weekend Requirement: One weekend day per month
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Team: Collaborative PT/OT/SLP multidisciplinary healthcare team
Occupational Therapist Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Occupational Therapy experience (inpatient rehab and acute care preferred)
- Experience with neurological rehab (stroke, brain injury) and amputee patients required; spinal cord injury experience a plus
- Active Maryland Occupational Therapist license or compact license (pending accepted, must be active before start)
- BLS certification required
- First-time travel OTs accepted with relevant experience
- Two supervisor references required
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy to adults and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehab setting
- Conduct OT assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and participate in discharge planning
- Deliver therapy for patients with neurological impairments (stroke, brain injury), amputees, and general debility
- Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on adaptive equipment, safety, and injury prevention strategies
- Utilize adaptive equipment, perform cognitive and perceptual assessments, and support community re-entry
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner (preferred)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold CARF accreditation standards
