Radiology Technologist Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• New York State Radiologic Technologist license or eligibility to obtain before start
• Minimum 2 years of recent X-Ray Technologist experience
• Recent experience (within past 8 months) with c-arm/o-arm equipment
• Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Ability to lift/move patients and stand for long periods
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and a collaborative team player

Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders before procedures
• Operate x-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images of bones, tissues, and organs
• Explain procedures and address patient questions, ensuring comfort and safety
• Position and assist patients, including those with limited mobility
• Safely handle radiologic equipment to minimize patient exposure
• Monitor patient status and adapt care for age-specific needs
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly
• Utilize electronic patient information systems and follow dual patient identifier protocols
• Maintain accurate records and ensure images are sent to PACS correctly
• Participate in on-call, weekend, holiday, and callback shifts as required
