Occupational Therapist Job Details

• Location: Morristown, New Jersey (Zip: 07960) – New Jersey occupational therapy jobs
• Setting: Inpatient Rehab Hospital

• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 3/2/2026 – End: 5/30/2026)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Occupational Therapist Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Occupational Therapist (OT) License
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist; high-acuity inpatient experience in ICU, Step-Down, or Cardiac units preferred
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Occupational Therapy Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to patients in an inpatient hospital rehab setting
• Meet visit productivity standards and complete electronic documentation within required time frames
• Collaborate professionally with healthcare providers, students, and families
• Supervise and utilize therapy aides appropriately
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff and assist with employee orientation
• Adhere to hospital safety standards and infection control protocols
• Educate patients and families using age-appropriate, culturally sensitive teaching methods
• Assess teaching effectiveness and revise care plans as needed
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff
