Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• At least 1 year of Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience
• Valid Pennsylvania state respiratory therapist license required
• Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS
• Acute care experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• PA Fingerprints required prior to start
• Must be able to complete compliance labs within 48 hours of signing
• First-time travel respiratory therapists welcome

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in a hospital trauma setting
• Operate advanced respiratory equipment: Hamilton G5, PB 980, Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis tx, Cough Assist, Vest, IPV
• Perform procedures: intubation assist, extubation, airway placement, suctioning, tracheostomy care, pulmonary hygiene
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs); manage mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula
• Administer respiratory medications and therapies (Albuterol, Atrovent, inhaled steroids, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide, etc.)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Respiratory Services and Rapid Response Teams
• Weekend and holiday coverage required; no on-call required
