• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Respiratory Therapist)

• Start Date: April 27, 2026
• Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) — Night shift respiratory therapist jobs
• Hours per Week: 36 (3 × 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1710-$1830

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current Pennsylvania state license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• At least 2 years of recent adult respiratory care experience in a hospital/acute care setting
• In-state fingerprinting required
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, ventilator management, and arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to adult patients in a hospital environment, including ICU and step-down units
• Manage mechanical ventilators and perform ventilator adjustments per protocol and physician orders
• Provide advanced airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, and pulmonary hygiene
• Obtain and interpret ABGs, monitor patient response, and document changes in condition and treatment effectiveness
• Perform patient assessments, respiratory treatments, and interventions as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (nurses, physicians, RT leads) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate records, adhere to hospital protocols, infection control, and safety standards
• Participate in shift hand-offs, communicate effectively with incoming staff, and respond to code situations as needed

Skills & Competencies

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in adult respiratory care
• Proficiency with ventilator modes and troubleshooting
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced hospital settings
• Familiarity with pulmonary care protocols, infection control, and electronic medical records (EMR)
