Job Details — Travel Surgical Technologist (L&D)
- Location: State College, PA 16801 (State College, Pennsylvania)
- Job Title: Travel OB Surgical Technologist / Perioperative Tech (Scrub Tech)
- Assignment Type: Travel
- Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D) / Women & Children’s Services
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (06:45 – 19:15), every other weekend, rotating holidays
- Duration: 13 weeks (March 3, 2026 – June 2, 2026)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,520 - $1,640 per week
Required Qualifications — Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) or OB/GYN perioperative experience required
- Current state certification or nursing certification (as applicable)
- Knowledge of AWHONN practice standards preferred
- Ability to work every other weekend and rotating holidays
- Strong infection control, sterile technique, and perioperative skills
Key Responsibilities — L&D / Perioperative Surgical Tech
- Function as scrub or assist in the Delivery Room under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and circulating nurse
- Apply principles of asepsis and sterile technique to provide optimal patient care during deliveries and C-sections
- Assist with skin preparation, draping, instrument and equipment set-up for obstetric procedures
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and perioperative equipment
- Perform gowning, gloving, and surgical scrubbing according to policy and perioperative safety standards
- Identify medications and solutions by name, dosage, and expiration date with a registered nurse
- Assist with case set-up, update surgeons’ preference lists, and perform instrument counts
- Respond to emergency situations in L&D and adhere to infection control and safety policies
