- Shift: 4x10-hour days (7:00am – 5:30pm) OR 5x8-hour days (8:30am – 5:00pm)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On-Site Position: Yes
- Weekend Coverage: Required (rotating schedule)
- Float Requirement: May provide coverage to any hospital unit (acute care, med/surg, ICU, specialty units)
Job Requirements – Registered Dietitian Nutritionist / DC Licensure
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required
- DC dietitian licensure required (pending licensure accepted with proof of application; license must be in hand by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in adult outpatient/clinic settings OR at least 1 year of experience in a teaching hospital
- Clinical experience caring for patients with heart failure, post-op gastric bypass, dialysis/hemodialysis/CRRT, and acute/chronic kidney disease
- Preferred: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC)
- Preferred: Experience with Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) and experience in trauma level I/II or community hospital settings
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities – Clinical Nutrition & Nutrition Support
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments for adult and geriatric patients across hospital units
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans, therapeutic diet orders, and nutrition therapy for complex medical conditions
- Provide specialized nutrition education and counseling for patients with heart failure, post-op gastric bypass, kidney disease, and other conditions
- Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition therapy, monitor for complications, and assess fluid status
- Perform Nutrition-Focused Physical Exams (NFPE) to identify nutrient deficiencies, malabsorption, and protein-calorie malnutrition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, therapists) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to different units as needed to provide comprehensive inpatient nutrition support
- Document nutrition care and interventions using Cerner EMR (electronic charting)
