Hospital Dietitian (RDN) – Travel Contract in Washington, DC (20007). Join a dynamic healthcare team in Georgetown providing adult outpatient clinical nutrition in a hospital setting while enjoying the vibrant neighborhood and nearby parks and universities.
Job Details
- Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown area)
- Setting: Hospital – Adult Outpatient/Clinic (clinical dietitian / outpatient dietitian role)
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract – Dietitian (13 or 26 weeks available)
- Start Date: May 25, 2026
- End Date: August 24, 2026 (for 13-week contract)
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour days (08:30 – 17:00) — Day shift
- Hours per Week: 40
- On Call/Weekend Requirements: None
- Floating: Not required
- Flu Vaccine: Required for all employees (no exemptions)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1670–$1800
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active DC Dietitian licensure required (pending accepted with proof of application; must be in hand by start date)
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in adult outpatient/clinic settings (outpatient dietitian or clinical nutrition experience)
- Demonstrated experience managing short gut syndrome / short bowel patients, enteral nutrition (tube feedings), and total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
- Experience with Crohn's disease and IBS / IBD is a plus
- Ability to provide two supervisor references
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules within required timeframes
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans for adult patients in an outpatient/clinic hospital setting
- Manage and monitor patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition (tube feedings and TPN), including short gut syndrome / short bowel cases
- Provide patient and family education on dietary management for conditions such as Crohn's disease, IBS, and other gastrointestinal disorders
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, pharmacists) to optimize clinical nutrition and patient outcomes
- Document patient interactions, nutrition care plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical nutrition initiatives to enhance outpatient services
