Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Minimum 1 year recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting (acute care / critical care experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong ventilator management and airway management skills, including experience with mechanical ventilation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Excellent communication, patient education, and documentation skills (therapy charging and shift handoffs)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed in a hospital environment
• Evaluate patients and recommend respiratory treatment plans; support acute and critical care patients
• Administer physician-prescribed treatments using ventilators, oxygen therapy, and aerosol devices
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring
• Conduct 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care, and chest tube management
• Perform arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency and blood gas trends
• Maintain accurate records of treatments, patient responses, and therapy charges
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Participate in shift-to-shift handoffs and ensure continuity of respiratory therapy services
• Perform other duties as assigned to support hospital respiratory services
