Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active New Jersey state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT); NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT in a hospital or acute care setting (critical care/ICU experience a plus)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong communication, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt in a fast-paced hospital environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care and safe patient transport as medically prescribed
• Evaluate patients, recommend respiratory treatment plans, and participate in ventilator management and weaning
• Administer physician-prescribed therapies using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen delivery, and aerosol devices
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and arterial blood gas sampling
• Conduct 12-lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies
• Assist with procedures including bronchoscopy support, tracheostomy care, and chest tube management
• Document all treatments, patient responses, and maintain accurate therapy charging and records
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members during shift hand-offs and care planning
• Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and departmental operations
