Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist or Radiation Therapy Technologist (hospital/oncology experience preferred)
• Completion of a Radiation Therapy Technology program at an AMA-approved school
• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Radiation Therapist in New York State (NYS license can be obtained during onboarding)
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required (ARRT-registered Radiation Therapist)
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and NYSDOH, ARRT, ACRO standards
• Excellent communication, patient care, and teamwork skills in a clinical/hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed ionizing radiation and radioactive substances to oncology patients under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist
• Safely operate and QA linear accelerators and high-voltage machinery (Varian TrueBeam, Varian 21iX / Varian 21ix)
• Enter and maintain accurate patient treatment parameters in the electronic medical record (EMR) and oncology information system
• Interpret computerized treatment plans and ensure precise delivery of radiation therapy per plan
• Monitor patients for acute reactions, document findings, and promptly report adverse events to clinical staff
• Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with medical physicists and radiation oncology teams to resolve complex problems
• Maintain professional conduct, prioritize patient welfare, and follow radiation safety best practices and regulatory requirements
