Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)
• Current state licensure required for practice in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of hospital-based RRT experience (acute care, critical care, or pulmonary units)
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or equivalent)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills for multidisciplinary care

Responsibilities — Respiratory Therapist Duties

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and pulmonary support to hospitalized patients
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory treatments
• Assist with ventilator support and ventilator management; monitor and assess patient responses
• Perform pulmonary assessments and respond to changes in patient status, including ABG interpretation as appropriate
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment according to hospital protocols
• Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly in the medical record
