- Shift: Night – 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)

- Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics (ICU/Step-down experience preferred)

Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1450 - $1560 per week
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent hospital-based experience as a Respiratory Therapist (ventilator management, critical care)
- Current DC Respiratory Care Practitioner license OR eligibility at time of submission (Washington, DC licensure)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted
- Current BLS required; ACLS/NRP as applicable highly desired
- Experience with adult critical care and Emergency Department (ED) preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record system preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Ability to work every other weekend and night shift schedule
- Two supervisor references required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult and geriatric patients, including ICU ventilator management and weaning strategies
- Manage high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, aerosolized treatments, and chest physiotherapy
- Perform airway management: extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust ventilator settings to support weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Administer and monitor respiratory medications (albuterol, ipratropium, levalbuterol, inhaled steroids) per protocol
- Operate advanced ventilators and respiratory equipment (Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo, Evita, Vela, Maquet, etc.)
- Document all respiratory care and assessments accurately in the electronic medical record (Cerner)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality pulmonary and critical care
