- Shift: Night shifts – Mon, Tue, Wed (7:30pm–6:00am) and Sat (9:00pm–7:30am)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On Call/Weekend: No on-call; includes weekend shift
- Float Requirement: Within department and within competency
Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years experience as an Ultrasound Technologist / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS), preferably with inpatient hospital experience
- Current ARDMS certification required (RDMS or specialty credentials preferred)
- Valid DC license required at time of submission (Washington DC sonographer)
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Experience with adult and pediatric imaging, portable sonography, and common ultrasound procedures (abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts)
- Ability to float within the department as needed and adapt to varied case volumes
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations for adult and pediatric patients in a hospital setting
- Operate ultrasound equipment, perform portable exams, and ensure high-quality imaging for physician interpretation
- Conduct abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small-parts, and other sonographic studies per hospital protocols
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to deliver excellent patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records, image documentation, and adhere to HIPAA and facility policies
- Follow infection control and isolation precautions, including proper PPE use
- Participate in orientation, competency assessments, and required facility training modules within specified timeframes
