Overview
We are seeking an experienced travel respiratory therapist to support both NICU and adult critical care patient populations in Rosedale, MD (Baltimore area). This hospital-based travel CRT role offers exposure to a teaching hospital environment, interdisciplinary teams, and advanced respiratory equipment. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical ventilation skills, neonatal experience, and Cerner charting proficiency.

- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1450-$1560/week
Job Details
- Location: Rosedale, Maryland (21237) — Baltimore-area travel respiratory therapist position
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 14, 2026 – July 14, 2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:30 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Hospital – NICU and Adult Critical Care (ventilator management, mechanical ventilation)
- On-site: Yes
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend required; holiday coverage expected
- Float Requirement: Float between Adult and NICU units (neonatal respiratory therapist duties)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Adult Critical Care and NICU
- At least 1 prior travel assignment completed (preferred for travel respiratory therapist roles)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- CRT credential required; RRT acceptable
- Maryland state licensure (or compact license) for respiratory care
- Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics certification
- Charting experience with Cerner (electronic medical records)
- ED, ACLS, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform airway management and suctioning (endotracheal tube care, extubation, nasal/oral airways, tracheostomy care)
- Provide pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, and sputum specimen collection
- Interpret and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) and titrate respiratory therapies accordingly
- Administer inhaled and nebulized respiratory medications (Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids)
- Set up and manage HFNC (high flow nasal cannula), BiPAP, CPAP, aerosol masks, and trach collars
- Troubleshoot high pressure alarms, ventilator issues, and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Assist in high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation support, and umbilical blood gas collection (NICU duties)
- Operate and manage ventilators including Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U
- Float between adult and neonatal patient populations as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
