Job Requirements

• Valid Respiratory Therapist certification (RRT or CRT) and state licensure as required
• Minimum 1 year of hospital respiratory therapy experience; critical care/ICU experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification (current)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Strong clinical communication, patient education, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care, including ventilator management and mechanical ventilation setup, monitoring, and weaning
• Evaluate patients, recommend treatment plans, and perform physician-prescribed respiratory treatments
• Operate and monitor ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, aerosol devices, and nebulizers
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies
• Assist with bronchoscopies, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and arterial blood gas sampling
• Conduct patient transport with appropriate respiratory support and safety precautions
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and basic arrhythmia recognition; participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS/ACLS
• Maintain accurate clinical records of treatments, ventilator settings, and patient responses
• Communicate effectively with physicians and staff; complete thorough shift-to-shift handoffs
• Assist with respiratory equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory as needed
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of respiratory care practice
