Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive) and ventilator troubleshooting
• Experience with oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function testing, and chest x-ray review
• Strong communication, patient education, and multidisciplinary team collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage patient transport and critical care situations

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care, assessment, and treatment according to physician orders
• Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment and non-invasive ventilation
• Perform and interpret oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, and 12-lead EKGs
• Deliver physician-prescribed treatments using ventilators, oxygen therapy, aerosol/nebulizer devices
• Perform chest physiotherapy, airway suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal) and tracheostomy care
• Assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube management, arterial puncture, and other respiratory procedures
• Monitor and document patient responses, maintain accurate treatment records, and communicate therapy effectiveness to physicians
• Participate in shift-to-shift handoff and collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health staff
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS/ACLS guidelines and assist during critical events
• Other duties as assigned to support high-quality patient care in a hospital respiratory department
