- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080 – $2,240
- Location: Baltimore, MD 21201 — Downtown Baltimore, close to the Inner Harbor, museums, and dining (Baltimore healthcare jobs, Maryland respiratory therapy jobs)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Start Date: April 27, 2026 (or ASAP)
- Shift: 4 x 10-hour Day Shifts (06:45 – 17:15)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Unit: DTC Pulmonary Diagnostics (Pulmonary Function Lab, PFT lab)
- Number of Positions: 1
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
- Weekends/On-call: No weekends or on-call required
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Floating: May be required within hospital
Minimum Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pulmonary function testing (PFT) and bronchoscopy support — will consider first-time travelers with strong PFT/bronch experience
- Active MD or Compact License required at time of submission (respiratory therapist licensure)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) and BLS required (AHA only)
- ACLS, PALS, CPFT, RPFT certifications preferred
- Experience with Vyntus/Jaeger pulmonary function testing equipment preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred for accurate documentation
- Comfortable working with all age ranges (pediatrics through geriatrics)
- Ability to float within hospital as needed
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- References: 2 professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN acceptable)
- Local candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pulmonary testing studies including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity, exercise testing, and bronchoscopy support
- Operate and maintain Vyntus/Jaeger pulmonary function testing equipment and other cardiopulmonary diagnostic devices
- Assist with specialized procedures: stress test administration, HAST studies, cold air studies, shunt studies, bronchial provocation testing, and more
- Provide patient-centered care for cardiopulmonary and pulmonary patients across all age groups
- Support interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, pulmonary medicine, and rapid response teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and departmental procedures in the pulmonary diagnostics lab
