Job Details — Travel Radiology Job (State College, PA)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940 (Competitive travel radiology pay)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Radiologic Technologist / Rad Tech)
- Duration: 13 weeks (March 25, 2026 – June 24, 2026)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift: 8 Hour Evenings, every 3rd weekend — great for work-life balance
- Location: On-site in State College, PA 16801 (Pennsylvania radiology jobs)
Required Qualifications — Radiology Technologist (ARRT Registered)
- Completion of an ARRT-approved program in Radiologic Technology
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS (American Heart Association); renew BLS every two years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office (radiology tech experience)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, radiologic equipment (CR/DR/Fluoro), PACS image management, and radiation safety (ALARA)
- Strong communication skills, ability to follow protocols, and basic equipment troubleshooting
Key Responsibilities — Diagnostic Radiography & Fluoroscopy
- Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, verify identifiers, and address patient questions
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as ordered by physicians, ensuring image quality and patient safety
- Review orders and evaluate appropriateness of requested exams for accurate diagnosis
- Position patients correctly using proper radiographic technique for CR, DR, and Fluoro rooms
- Operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently, including portable radiographic units for bedside exams
- Transfer images to PACS, scan relevant documents, and route studies per department workflow
- Assist radiologists and fluoroscopy technologists during special procedures and maintain sterile technique as required
- Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media when indicated and trained to do so, following department policies
- Document patient history, symptoms, imaging limitations, and study details in PACS and departmental records
- Maintain clean, organized work areas, support quality assurance activities, and promote radiation safety practices
- Provide professional customer service to patients, families, and clinical staff; escort patients within the department as needed
- Perform clerical duties and assist with office functions to support department efficiency
