Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,100 - $2,250 (competitive travel MRI pay)
- Location: Rochester, NY 14642 — Rochester MRI jobs / New York imaging jobs
- Setting: Hospital, Level I Trauma Center (acute care, high-volume imaging)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 11, 2026)
- Shift: Weekend Days – 7:00am to 7:30pm (Saturday, Sunday, & Monday); holidays, on-call, and callback as needed
- Shifts per Week: 3 (three 12-hour shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel MRI Technologist, On-Site
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Associate degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Radiologic Technology, or related field
- ARRT certification in MRI (preferred) or equivalent registry — ARRT MRI technologist preferred
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an MRI Technologist (hospital and trauma center experience preferred)
- Proven experience with GE MRI scanners required
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or high-acuity hospital setting
- New York State Radiologic Technologist license (must be willing to obtain after starting)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and MRI safety (MRI zones, screening, and precautions)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate MRI equipment and GE MRI scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Perform patient screening, positioning, and preparation for MRI exams; ensure patient comfort and safety
- Insert IVs when required for contrast-enhanced imaging studies
- Follow MRI safety protocols, maintain controlled access to MRI zones, and adhere to radiation safety and infection control practices
- Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and the multidisciplinary care team to provide timely diagnostic imaging
- Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Maintain a clean, safe scanning environment and perform routine equipment checks
- Perform patient care tasks as needed in the imaging department
