• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,630 – $1,750 (competitive travel respiratory therapist pay)
• Location: Rochelle Park, NJ (07662) — New Jersey respiratory therapy job

Job Requirements

• Active New Jersey state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist / RRT preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting (critical care/acute care experience preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong skills in ventilator management, airway management, and emergency response
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively during shift hand-offs
• Patient education and strong interpersonal skills for care coordination with physicians and nursing staff

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care and safe patient transport as medically prescribed
• Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans focused on pulmonary function and ventilator management
• Explain purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients and families
• Deliver physician-prescribed treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen therapy, aerosol devices, and nebulizers
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, continuous oximetry and capnography monitoring, and review chest x-rays
• Conduct 12-lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and arterial blood gas sampling
• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment and non-invasive ventilation systems
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of treatments and patient responses in the medical record
• Communicate effectively with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and during shift hand-offs
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines
• Other duties as assigned consistent with hospital respiratory therapist responsibilities
