- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,140 - $2,290
- Assignment Duration: 16 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 23, 2026)
- Location: Plattsburgh, NY (12901) — Adirondacks & Lake Champlain; New York respiratory therapist jobs
- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Care Unit (Level II Trauma)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30pm – 7:00am)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Orientation: 2 days
- Documentation System: EPIC (required)
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Floating: Required to hospital floors, nursery, and ER as needed
- Weekend / Holiday: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
Qualifications — Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Requirements
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist (hospital experience preferred)
- Active NY Respiratory Therapist license, or proof of application with applied date (New York respiratory license)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC verification
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (or documented neonatal/pediatric exposure)
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years (required)
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric populations preferred (NRP required or documented exposure)
- Ability to float across units including nursery and emergency department
- Reliable transportation required (limited public transit access in Plattsburgh)
- Adherence to hospital dress code (scrubs: black or ceil blue; closed non-skid shoes; minimal jewelry; groomed hair/beard; nail polish per policy)
Responsibilities — Respiratory Care & Critical Care Duties
- Deliver respiratory care to patients from neonates to adults across hospital units, including ICU, step-down, nursery and ER
- Operate and manage ventilators and respiratory equipment including Puritan Bennett 980 & 840, LTV1200, ABG analyzers
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory procedures and assessments, including ventilator management and weaning
- Provide neonatal and pediatric respiratory support as needed (NRP skills)
- Document patient care and treatments accurately using EPIC clinical documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and coordinate pulmonary care
- Participate in department rotations and adapt to unit-specific workflows and hospital policies
