• Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Travel, Night Shift
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930 – $2,080
• Location: Johnson City, NY 13790 (Southern Tier, New York)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Pulmonary Unit / Critical Care
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the NBRC
• Current BLS and ACLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (critical care preferred)
• Experience with mechanical ventilators (V60 BiPAP, 980 Puritan Bennett) and EPIC documentation
• Ability to participate in external patient transports
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in English (read, write, speak)

Preferred / Additional Skills

• Experience in ICU, NICU, or pulmonary specialty units
• Familiarity with high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP protocols, and ventilator management
• Blood gas analysis and arterial puncture experience
• Experience with hospital information systems and medication dispensing programs

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based respiratory therapy and ventilator management for critical care patients
• Administer aerosol therapy, secretion mobilization, incentive spirometry, MDI, suctioning, and extubation
• Manage oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP therapy, high-flow cannula/humidifier therapy, and respond to ventilator alarms
• Perform pulmonary function screens, fit testing, pulse oximetry, and EKG monitoring across age groups
• Provide BLS life support (adult, pediatric, neonatal) and participate in emergency responses
• Conduct arterial puncture and blood gas analysis; maintain quality control for the Blood Gas Laboratory
• Document interventions, verify physician orders, record and report procedure results in EPIC or equivalent systems
• Participate in departmental in-service training and external patient transports as required
• Maintain accurate departmental records and adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols
