Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), preferably in an academic medical center
• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program (Associate degree or higher)
• Active NYS Respiratory Therapist License (current, in good standing with CE profile up-to-date)
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience required
• Strong communication, clinical documentation, and computer skills
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write English; professional demeanor and adherence to ethical standards

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and manage patients with respiratory disorders across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations
• Provide respiratory therapy procedures, cardio-respiratory diagnostics, and detailed patient assessments under physician direction
• Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures and airway management, including ventilator management as indicated
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and clinical documentation in EPIC
• Select, assemble, check, and operate respiratory equipment and devices
• Supervise and mentor respiratory therapy technicians and support staff
• Participate in patient transport (inter- and intra-hospital) and prioritize emergent vs. non-emergent requests for service
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care
