Job Details & Travel Radiology Overview
- Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (Rochester NY radiology jobs)
- Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center – trauma imaging and OR/intraoperative support
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Travel contract)
- Start Date: May 11, 2026
- End Date: August 8, 2026
- Shift: Weekends — Fri 10:30am–Midnight, Sat 8am–Midnight, Sun 7:30am–4pm
- Hours per Week: 36 preferred (would consider 40)
- On Call: 2–3 call shifts/month (must report within 30 minutes)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 – $2,080 (competitive pay for travel Radiologic Technologist roles)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- New York State Radiologic Technologist license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of X-ray Technologist / Radiologic Technologist experience
- Recent experience in a Level 1 trauma center and operating room (OR) preferred
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Experience using C-arm and O-arm within the past 8 months
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods; capable of on-call reporting within 30 minutes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with a compassionate, patient-focused approach to imaging and care
Key Responsibilities – Radiology / Imaging
- Verify patient identity and review physicians' orders prior to imaging procedures
- Operate x-ray, C-arm/O-arm and related radiologic equipment to capture diagnostic and intraoperative images
- Position patients safely and appropriately, assisting those with limited mobility
- Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure patient comfort and safety
- Minimize radiation exposure while producing high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
- Observe and interpret patient status to meet age-specific and clinical needs in trauma and OR settings
- Use electronic patient information systems and PACS to ensure images and records are accurate and transmitted correctly
- Promptly notify management of equipment issues and participate in on-call, callback, and holiday coverage as needed
