• Setting: Hospital laboratory — clinical lab, hematology, chemistry, microbiology

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
• Valid certification or licensure as required by New Jersey state regulations (ASCP or equivalent preferred)
• Proficiency in Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) and familiarity with CLIA regulations
• Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and accurate documentation practices
• Strong attention to detail, quality control, and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology) following established protocols
• Conduct Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), verify results, and ensure accurate documentation in the LIS
• Perform routine quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure a safe, efficient laboratory work environment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment
• Adhere to hospital and laboratory safety policies, infection control practices, and regulatory standards
