Job Details
- Location: Bridgeport, CT 06610 (Bridgeport & Milford campuses)
- Setting: Short-term acute care hospital (426 staffed beds, Level II Trauma Center)
- Contract Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) contract
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 3, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 4x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 – $2,080
- Floating: Required between Bridgeport and Milford campuses, including NICU, Pediatrics, adult units
- Charting System: EPIC (experience with EPIC required)

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent critical care experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); Level III NICU and Level I trauma experience required
- Previous travel respiratory therapist experience required (travel RT jobs preferred)
- Proficiency with neonatal oscillating ventilators and Draeger vents required
- Current Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Current BLS required; ACLS, NRP, PALS and CRT or RRT credentials strongly preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Willingness to float to all hospital units and support high-acuity areas as needed
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Ability to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays
- Local candidates within 75 miles not accepted — candidate must be prepared to travel
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory therapy care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in a Level III NICU and trauma center setting
- Operate and manage neonatal oscillating ventilators, Draeger vents, high-frequency ventilation, and other specialized respiratory equipment
- Perform respiratory interventions including ventilator management, intubation assistance, airway management, and emergency respiratory support
- Participate in high-risk deliveries, neonatal transports, and trauma responses as required
- Float between Bridgeport and Milford campuses to support all hospital units based on staffing needs
- Document respiratory assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in EPIC
- Orient, mentor, and support students and new hires when appropriate
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state respiratory care regulations, and patient safety standards
