Job Requirements (Registered Respiratory Therapist / RRT)

• Current Respiratory Therapist certification; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred
• At least 1 year of hospital-based respiratory therapy experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong communication, patient education, and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management

Core Responsibilities (Respiratory Therapist Duties)

• Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed
• Evaluate patients, recommend respiratory treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians and the care team
• Deliver physician-prescribed therapies using ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, aerosol and nebulizer devices
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, continuous oximetry and capnography monitoring, and chest x-ray review
• Conduct 12-lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies
• Assist with procedures including bronchoscopy support, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and arterial blood sampling
• Operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment and ventilator settings
• Document respiratory treatments, patient responses, and billing/charging accurately
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS/ACLS guidelines
• Support quality improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned
