Travel Cytotechnologist needed in White Plains, NY — NYS Cytotechnologist license required. 13-week acute care hospital assignment with competitive weekly pay and guaranteed hours. Join our clinical laboratory team in Westchester County, just north of New York City.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 - $2,190
• Location: White Plains, NY 10601 (Westchester County, near NYC)
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital, Clinical Pathology/Laboratory
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 – August 24, 2026)
• Shift: 10-hour days, Tuesday–Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm
• Guaranteed Hours: 38 hours per week
• Parking: Minimum $1.25/hour
• Job Type: Travel Cytotechnologist, Contract

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience screening gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens and fine needle aspirations (FNA)
• Bachelor of Science in a related field and ASCP registry or graduation from an accredited cytology school
• New York State Cytotechnologist license required
• ThinPrep certification and familiarity with ThinPrep processing
• Proficient with the Bethesda System for reporting cervical cytology
• ASCP certification preferred
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Screen GYN and non-GYN cytology slides with accuracy and adherence to laboratory quality standards
• Process and perform immediate adequacy assessment for Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA)
• Prepare cytology specimens including ThinPrep and conventional preps for diagnostic evaluation
• Document findings and maintain records using EPIC and laboratory information systems
• Follow the Bethesda System for reporting and ensure timely, high-quality cytology reports
• Collaborate with pathologists, lab staff, and clinical teams to support patient care in an acute care hospital setting
