• Role: Travel Respiratory Therapist / Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Setting: Hospital – Pulmonary Unit (critical care / NICU)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 05/11/2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (36 hours/week)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930 – $2,080 (W2 travel)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License (required for New York respiratory therapy jobs)
• Registered by the NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• BLS and ACLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist with critical care and NICU experience required
• Experience with V60 BiPAP, Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, ventilator management, and high-flow systems
• Proficient with EPIC and other electronic health record documentation systems
• Ability to participate in external patient transports
• Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
• English proficiency (read, write, speak)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and ventilator management as directed, including adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Administer aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, MDI therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy, and suctioning
• Manage BiPAP-CPAP therapy, high-flow oxygen therapy, humidifier therapy, and ventilator alarms
• Perform extubation, oxygen therapy, cough assist/vest therapy, and pulmonary function screening
• Conduct arterial puncture and perform blood gas analysis for the laboratory
• Provide BLS and assist with advanced life support in collaboration with the clinical team
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain departmental records and standards
• Participate in external patient transports and on-call responsibilities as needed
• Assist with departmental in-service training and other duties as assigned
