• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) — Night shift respiratory therapist
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Level 4 NICU, PICU, ER, Level 1 Trauma, Med/Surg ICU — mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Floating: Required to float within respiratory care settings as needed
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RRT experience in NICU and PICU or equivalent pediatric critical care experience
• Competent caring for all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Active MD (Maryland) or Compact RRT License required at time of submission
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT (AHA or AAP only)
• Proven experience with ventilated patients and advanced respiratory equipment (e.g., Maquet Servo-i, Dräger V500, jet ventilation, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide)
• Strong skills in ventilator management, mechanical ventilation troubleshooting, and respiratory assessments
• Comfortable floating to other units within scope of practice
• Epic EMR / Epic charting experience preferred
• References: 2 satisfactory professional references from recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care respiratory therapy across the lifespan: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Manage and monitor ventilated patients (average daily census: 6–7 ventilated patients; 12-bed unit)
• Perform advanced respiratory procedures including intubation assistance, high-frequency ventilation, oscillatory ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and jet ventilation
• Support neonatal resuscitation (NRP), assist in high-risk deliveries, and participate in neonatal/pediatric transports
• Float between NICU, PICU, ER, Trauma, and Med/Surg ICU as needed to support patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, RTs, transport teams) to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document respiratory care and ventilator settings in Epic EMR
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and unit-specific protocols
