• Setting: Hospital Laboratory – Cytogenetics Unit (clinical laboratory)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 – 16:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Employment Type: Travel assignment — on-site hospital lab position

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution (Clinical Laboratory Science, MLS, or equivalent)
• Certified or certification-eligible as a Medical Technologist (MT) through ASCP or AMT; ASCP certification preferred
• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in Cytogenetics or related specialty prior to travel
• Permanent Ohio license required at time of submission (compact licenses accepted for starts after 1/1/23)
• Two recent professional references from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty (from assignments within the past 12 months)
• Active required certifications with no outstanding credentialing items
• Nicotine-free policy: negative 10-panel + nicotine drug screen required within 12 months of start
• COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret laboratory tests at all complexity levels in the Cytogenetics Lab, following hospital and CLIA standards
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory theory, scientific principles, and cytogenetic technical procedures
• Correlate abnormal laboratory data with pathological states and assess validity of test results
• Monitor, document, and verify quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory standards
• Communicate test results, reference ranges, and specimen requirements clearly to authorized clinical teams and providers
• Participate in orientation, competency assessments, and ongoing continuing education modules as required
• Support laboratory workflow in a high-volume hospital setting and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams
