• Assignment Type: Travel assignment (13 weeks)
• Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,630 – $1,750
• Shifts: Days/Afternoons; 8- or 10-hour shifts with heart call (10–15 calls per 6-week period)
• Hours per Week: 36–40
• On-Call: 30-minute response time required; sleeping arrangements provided for call shifts

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) by NCCT required
• BLS and ACLS required (BLS preferred at hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care)
• Associate's degree, vocational certificate, or military certificate in Surgical Technology
• At least 1 year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience required
• Cardiac and vascular OR experience preferred (minimum 1–2 years cardiac experience preferred)
• Previous travel experience preferred; adaptable to float to main OR when no cardiac/vascular cases
• Ability to respond within 30 minutes for on-call shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as scrub person during cardiovascular and vascular procedures, preparing and providing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Prepare and organize sterile supplies and instrument trays; perform surgical counts with circulating RN
• Maintain aseptic technique and an organized sterile field throughout procedures
• Assist with sterile draping and provide instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical team
• Collect, retrieve, and label surgical specimens accurately
• Support cath lab and hybrid cases including TCAR, EVAR, TVAR, and assist vascular surgeons on complex cases
• Participate in CABG, valve repairs/replacements, carotid, fem-pop, and other vascular bypass procedures
• Float to the main OR as needed and assist with general surgical cases when cardiac/vascular cases are not scheduled
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the OR and instrument processing
• Participate in ongoing education, competency verification, and orientation of new staff and travel technologists
• Demonstrate flexibility with staffing and scheduling to meet patient care needs
• Maintain professional grooming and attire consistent with hospital policy
