Pharmacy Technician Job Details – Trenton, NJ

- Setting: Hospital pharmacy (clinical pharmacy, sterile compounding)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Full-time, 5x8 hour shifts per week (40 hours/week)
- Shifts: Rotating 1st (7:00am–3:00pm) and 2nd (3:00pm–11:00pm)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (non-negotiable)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,010 – $1,090
- Start Date: June 15, 2026
Required Qualifications – Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred
- Active state registration and current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) credential required
- Proficiency in sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
- Familiarity with automated dispensing systems (Omnicell) and electronic health records (Cerner)
- Knowledge of medication safety, inventory control, and regulatory standards (state board, federal)
Key Responsibilities – Hospital Pharmacy Technician
- Prepare and compound medications, including sterile products and IV admixtures, under pharmacist supervision
- Support daily hospital pharmacy operations: medication dispensing, unit-dose packaging, and inventory management
- Operate automated dispensing cabinets (Omnicell) and process medication orders in Cerner EHR
- Maintain accurate medication records, perform cycle counts, and manage controlled substance documentation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards to support clinical pharmacy services
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare staff to optimize patient care
- Work rotating shifts and every other weekend as scheduled
