Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,830 – $3,040
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Setting: Hospital laboratory / surgical pathology support in a modern facility conveniently located in Bethlehem, PA (not on-site at the hospital)
• Start Date: June 15, 2026
• Employment Type: Local, Direct Contract

Qualifications / Requirements

• Master’s degree in Pathologist Assistant studies (required)
• At least 1 year of experience as a Pathology Assistant preferred (surgical pathology and autopsy experience a plus)
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary laboratory team
• Familiarity with laboratory safety, CAP/CLIA regulations, and specimen handling best practices
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred but not required

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist pathologists with preparation, gross examination, and dissection of surgical specimens (surgical pathology support)
• Perform autopsy procedures under supervision and assist with postmortem documentation
• Ensure accurate specimen handling, labeling, and chain-of-custody documentation
• Process and accession specimens, prepare tissue for histology, and maintain specimen logs
• Maintain laboratory safety, equipment, and compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with laboratory and clinical staff to support efficient workflow in the hospital pathology department
