Cardiac Sonographer Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in cardiac sonography, echocardiography, or ECHO preferred
• Proficiency performing 2-dimensional, color Doppler, and Doppler echocardiograms
• Experience with stress echocardiograms and dobutamine echocardiograms
• Strong knowledge of non-imaging continuous Doppler techniques
• Ability to interpret findings and recognize abnormal cardiac pathology
• Must be able to review patient history and accurately prepare for cardiac studies
• Ability to move equipment and perform portable cardiac ultrasound studies throughout the day
• Strong communication, documentation, and patient interaction skills

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound and echocardiography examinations, including 2D, color Doppler, and Doppler imaging
• Conduct stress echocardiograms and dobutamine echocardiograms as ordered
• Review charts and clinical history to support accurate testing and interpretation
• Explain procedures to patients and position them appropriately for studies
• Complete portable studies and transport equipment as needed
• Record, review, and prepare test results and reports for accuracy
• Maintain diagnostic equipment and ensure testing areas remain clean, organized, and stocked
• Support timely communication of preliminary findings to the appropriate provider
