We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist who is passionate about patient care and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. In this travel respiratory therapy role, you will assess patients, provide respiratory treatments, monitor therapy outcomes, and collaborate closely with the care team to support positive patient results.

- Schedule: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
- Hours per Week: 36
- Population: Adult acute care, emergency, and Level II NICU
- Facility Environment: Approximately 320-bed hospital with advanced respiratory support equipment
Job Requirements
- Current Respiratory Care License in the state of Illinois
- NBRC credential required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
- ACLS required; NRP and PALS preferred
- 6 months Respiratory Therapy experience in a general care area preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Comfortable using respiratory therapy equipment and electronic documentation systems
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and develop respiratory care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Provide ordered respiratory treatments and therapies while monitoring patient response
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and supplies
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapies such as oxygen use, inhaler administration, incentive spirometry, and ventilator care
- Respond appropriately to cardiopulmonary emergencies and code situations
- Document care accurately and maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
- Support patients across a wide range of ages, from neonates to geriatrics
- Assist with advanced respiratory modalities, including CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and arterial blood gas support
