• Schedule: Day/Afternoon shifts; 8-hour shifts with the option for varied scheduling based on department needs

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI technologist experience required; hospital MRI experience preferred
• Experience with GE MRI equipment preferred
• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology with MRI registry required, or ability to obtain MRI registry within 1 year of hire
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
• Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred
• Experience with EPIC and PACS preferred
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety, patient screening, and imaging protocols
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain excellent patient care standards

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams according to established protocols and physician orders
• Operate MRI equipment, select appropriate scan parameters, and ensure high-quality imaging results
• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after procedures, including patient education and screening
• Start IVs and administer contrast agents as needed for MRI studies
• Apply MRI safety principles to protect patients, staff, and equipment
• Monitor patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the imaging process
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate concerns to appropriate support teams
• Assist with training, onboarding, and support of new staff and students
• Maintain quality control standards and support department performance improvement efforts
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and other members of the care team
