• Patient Population: Neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• 2 years of MRI experience in a hospital setting required
• ARRT certification and registration in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required, or obtainable within 1 year of hire
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred upon hire and required prior to direct patient care
• Associate degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred
• Experience with EPIC and PACS preferred
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety, patient screening, and contrast administration
• Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic healthcare environment with changing volumes and priorities

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform MRI studies according to established protocols and physician orders
• Operate MRI equipment, surface coils, gating devices, and related diagnostic imaging technology
• Prepare, position, and screen patients to ensure comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the exam
• Administer contrast agents and perform IV injections as needed for imaging procedures
• Review patient information, select scan parameters, and optimize image quality
• Maintain MRI safety standards and controlled access to magnet room zones
• Conduct quality control checks and assist with equipment troubleshooting when needed
• Support training, onboarding, and orientation of new staff and students
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient care
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and maintain compliance with department protocols
