- Patient Population: Neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
MRI Technologist Job Requirements
- 2 years of MRI experience in a hospital setting required
- ARRT certification and registration in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required, or obtainable within 1 year of hire
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred upon hire and required prior to direct patient care
- Associate degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred
- Experience with EPIC and PACS preferred
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety, patient screening, and contrast administration
- Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic healthcare environment with changing volumes and priorities
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform MRI studies according to established protocols and physician orders
- Operate MRI equipment, surface coils, gating devices, and related diagnostic imaging technology
- Prepare, position, and screen patients to ensure comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the exam
- Administer contrast agents and perform IV injections as needed for imaging procedures
- Review patient information, select scan parameters, and optimize image quality
- Maintain MRI safety standards and controlled access to magnet room zones
- Conduct quality control checks and assist with equipment troubleshooting when needed
- Support training, onboarding, and orientation of new staff and students
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient care
- Participate in quality improvement efforts and maintain compliance with department protocols
