- Shift: Days/evenings; weekday shifts typically 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM or 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM
- Shift Duration: 10 hours
- Shifts Per Week: 4
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend coverage may be required; minimal call may be needed during high-volume periods or for call-offs
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care
- ARRT certification and registration required
- State licensure required if applicable for practice in Ohio
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required before direct patient care
- Experience working in surgery and proficiency with surgical imaging procedures required
- Experience with PACS, Radiology Information Systems, and EPIC preferred
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment with rotating schedules
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history and relevant clinical information before imaging procedures
- Position and immobilize patients to produce accurate diagnostic images while maintaining comfort and safety
- Apply radiation protection principles and ALARA standards to minimize exposure
- Perform radiographic procedures and operate imaging equipment and related accessories
- Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures as needed
- Verify informed consent and complete pre- and post-procedure documentation accurately
- Prepare and administer contrast or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
- Evaluate images for technical quality and document patient dose exposure
- Support care in the surgery suite and NICU when needed
- Collaborate professionally with physicians, technologists, nurses, patients, and family members
