The Respiratory Care Practitioner II provides essential respiratory care through patient assessment, treatment, education, and evaluation. This hospital respiratory therapist role supports safe, high-quality care across the continuum and may include precepting new team members, serving as a charge therapist, and assisting with staffing coordination as needed.

• Shift Pattern: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend and holiday coverage
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 - $1,860

Job Requirements

• Current Respiratory Care license in the state of Ohio
• NBRC credential required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred at hire
• 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional required
• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment, therapies, and patient assessment
• Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including neonates through geriatrics
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care through assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation
• Perform respiratory therapy procedures within scope of license and physician orders
• Monitor patient response to therapy and recommend adjustments as needed
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and supplies
• Educate patients and caregivers on inhalers, oxygen therapy, airway clearance, and ventilator care when applicable
• Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitations and emergency response as indicated
• Maintain accurate charting, documentation, and adherence to safety and infection control standards
• Support team coverage and may serve as a charge therapist or preceptor for new staff and students
