Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 0-1 years of related work experience required; janitorial, sanitation, or laboratory support experience is a plus
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with minimal supervision
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Basic computer skills and comfort navigating web-based applications
• Ability to work in environments with odors, heat, and humidity
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs
• Must not have allergies that would interfere with working around laboratory animals
• Ability to work locally and reliably report on-site in Boston, MA
• COVID-19 booster required

Responsibilities

• Process animal cage components and related equipment through mechanical washers according to standard operating procedures
• Use temperature and cycle assurance indicators to verify proper sanitation and sterilization
• Handle waste bedding using approved vacuum or HEPA-filtered disposal systems while wearing appropriate PPE
• Operate cage wash equipment and steam autoclaves safely and correctly
• Record sterilization results on assurance logs and report any failures or deficiencies promptly
• Stage cage components with the proper bedding and enrichment materials
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laboratory work area
• Support the research team by completing tasks accurately and consistently
