Job Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- Critical care and teaching hospital experience required
- Level I trauma center experience preferred
- Experience in trauma, neuro, medical, cardiac, and surgical ICUs
- Proficiency in advanced ventilator management required
- Ability to work on-call as needed, including 2 call shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday commitment required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services for adult critical care and emergency department patients
- Manage advanced ventilator settings and support complex respiratory cases
- Interpret esophageal balloons, PV loops, driving pressure, and best PEEP strategies
- Support patients using a variety of ventilators, including Hamilton G5, C6, T1, MR1, Phillips EV300, and INO vent
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver quality patient care
- Respond quickly to changing patient conditions in a dynamic trauma and critical care setting
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Participate in on-call coverage, weekend rotation, and holiday coverage as assigned
