- Schedule: Wednesday 12:30 PM-11:00 PM; Thursday-Saturday 8:30 AM-7:00 PM
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260-$2,430
Ultrasound Tech Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of ultrasound technologist or diagnostic imaging experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Ultrasound Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Registered in both Abdomen and OB/GYN by ARDMS
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- All certifications and registrations must be active and maintained throughout the assignment
Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations in a hospital setting
- Select the proper transducer type and frequency for each study
- Review patient history and supporting clinical information to support diagnostic accuracy
- Capture high-quality ultrasound images and evaluate them for technical excellence
- Explain procedures to patients and answer questions to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation
- Support patient safety, comfort, and dignity during all sonography examinations
- Maintain accurate radiology records and properly label all images
- Assist physicians with special ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies as needed
- Maintain equipment, requisition supplies, and complete related forms to support department operations
- Follow departmental policies, infection control standards, fire and disaster plans, and confidentiality requirements
- Contribute to ongoing professional development and continuing education
- Deliver excellent service to patients, families, visitors, and coworkers in a collaborative healthcare team
