• Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist / Lab Tech
• Schedule: Night shift, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Shift Duration: 8-hour nights
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,810 - $1,940
• Start Date: September 14, 2026
• Location: Elizabeth, NJ
• Setting: Hospital laboratory
• Charting/System Experience: EPIC and Sunquest experience preferred/required
• Equipment Experience: Beckman Coulter DxI, DxC, and DxH 600T required

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience required
• ASCP certification required
• Travel laboratory experience required
• Experience in blood bank, generalist, and specimen processing/caller functions
• Proficiency with Beckman Coulter instrumentation, including DxI, DxC, and DxH 600T
• Experience with the Sunquest laboratory information system required
• EPIC experience required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment
• Must be willing to float within skill set as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing across blood bank and generalist workflows
• Process specimens accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, including Beckman Coulter platforms
• Work in alignment with EPIC and Sunquest laboratory system workflows
• Support specimen accessioning, pipetting, and routine laboratory procedures
• Perform a wide range of testing, including CBC manual, differential, immunoassay, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, and more
• Maintain quality assurance, controls, and accurate documentation
• Assist with day-to-day lab coverage and float within scope to meet departmental needs
• Contribute to a collaborative healthcare team focused on dependable patient care
