Echo Tech Job Requirements

• 1-2 years of echocardiography experience required
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced cardiac imaging environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask
• All certifications and registrations must remain active and current

Responsibilities

• Obtain pertinent clinical history and position patients for diagnostic-quality echocardiograms
• Perform 2-D, M-Mode, Pulse/Continuous Wave, and Color Doppler studies
• Provide preliminary interpretation when appropriate
• Perform emergency echocardiography studies as needed
• Maintain echo lab records, patient charges, and equipment documentation
• Assist physicians with special ultrasound procedures and transesophageal echocardiograms in the outpatient area
• Follow standard echo protocols and accreditation guidelines
• Support quality assurance efforts, quarterly reporting, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment
• Ensure rooms and equipment are cleaned, restocked, and ready for the next patient
• Deliver compassionate, service-focused care with professionalism and teamwork
