Travel Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer – York, Maine

Travel Echo Tech opportunity in York, Maine for an experienced cardiac sonographer skilled in adult echocardiography, including Transthoracic Echo (TTE), Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo (TEE). Join a supportive hospital cardiology team and deliver accurate diagnostic imaging and quality patient care in a scenic coastal New England community.

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Call Requirements: Weekend call required, 1 on 4 off; Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 - $2,190

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of echocardiography experience
  • Proficiency in adult echocardiography imaging modalities, including Transthoracic Echo, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo (TEE)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (R.D.C.S. or R.C.S.) preferred, with registry required within 1 year of employment if not currently registered
  • Current BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within the preliminary employment period
  • Strong knowledge of infection control, safety, and practice-specific competencies
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, flexibility, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced hospital environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and diagnostic equipment for echocardiography procedures
  • Explain procedures clearly and respond to patient questions with professionalism and empathy
  • Obtain high-quality cardiac images and assist physicians with interpretation of imaging data
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in accordance with established protocols and clinical standards
  • Maintain accurate records, study archiving, and proper documentation
  • Support equipment upkeep, room organization, supply management, and office cleanliness
  • Deliver patient education and advocate for patient needs throughout the care process
  • Collaborate closely with providers, clinical staff, and support teams to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Contribute to quality monitoring and ongoing competency in echocardiography practices
