Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in pathology assisting or a related laboratory setting
• PA (ASCP) certification required
• NAACLS-accredited education required, or an MD Pathologist with grossing experience
• Experience with gross examination and dissection of small biopsies
• EPIC/Beaker knowledge required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment
• Strong attention to detail and excellent specimen handling skills

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and dissection of biopsies and pathology specimens
• Support pathology workflow for specimens received from the operating room and related services
• Select tissue for special studies when needed, including research-related processing
• Assist with workload coverage by grossing appropriate specimens based on unit needs
• Document and manage specimens accurately using EPIC/Beaker
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and quality in all laboratory processes
• Collaborate with the laboratory team to help ensure timely turnaround and smooth daily operations
