• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Hours per Week: 40
• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• Orientation: 24 hours
• On Call: Not required
• Weekends: Not required
• Floating: May be required within the specialty
• Dress Code: Blue pants with any color top (no graphics or tees)

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Cytotechnologist experience required
• Strong cytology skills in an inpatient hospital laboratory environment
• ASCP certification required
• ASCP-CT preferred
• BLS preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Ability to perform specimen preparation, staining, thin-prep, and smear-making techniques
• Comfort supporting a variety of age groups across the patient spectrum
• Must be able to work as scheduled, including holidays as assigned

Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and evaluate cytology specimens accurately and efficiently
• Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures to support laboratory standards
• Complete specimen labeling, identification, and processing with precision
• Assist with on-site procedures and support specimen collection as needed
• Prepare slides and materials for a variety of specimen types, including PAP, urine, ascitic fluid, gastric, esophageal, bronchial, and spinal specimens
• Use strong critical thinking and attention to detail when reviewing samples and preliminary findings
• Collaborate with the laboratory team to help maintain smooth daily workflow
• Support floating within the specialty when needed
