• Hours Per Week: 36
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Pattern: Evenings/Nights, typically 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Schedule Notes: Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Work Environment: Fast-paced hospital laboratory with opportunities to build experience across routine and complex testing

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or hospital lab setting
• Medical Lab Scientist certification or eligibility through a nationally recognized certification agency (ASCP preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related CLIA-approved program
• BLS certification required
• Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities in a laboratory environment
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and time management skills
• Comfort working with laboratory information systems (LIS) and standard lab equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing on patient samples
• Interpret, analyze, and accurately report test results in a timely manner
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and validate laboratory equipment
• Perform, document, and evaluate quality control procedures
• Identify and correct issues within the scope of training and education
• Support inventory, scheduling, and safety initiatives as needed
• Assist with competency assessments and method evaluation activities
• Follow universal precautions, infection control policies, and workplace safety standards
